Where the obvious fix falls short

Running HVAC and lighting at full capacity all day “just in case” wastes energy for most of the day’s low-occupancy hours; running it only when someone remembers means the hall is often still warming or cooling down exactly when a large crowd arrives, and switching everything off immediately after leaves latecomers and cleanup staff in the dark.

The building is comfortable when it’s actually full and doesn’t waste energy conditioning an empty hall for the other twenty hours of the day, without requiring a staff member to personally remember every prayer time, event, and season change.
