Family adjusting a wall tablet in a living room

Studio

One remote for the whole house: a 4-button control

A four-button wall remote in the studio cycles living scenes, runs curtains, guest and outdoor modes, and Off to Bed — without asking anyone to open an app.

Phone apps are fine for whoever set them up. Day to day, a Pakistani home needs something on the wall that anyone can use — including visitors who will never install an app.

What runs in the studio

In the Experience Studio at DHA Phase 5, Lahore, a four-button wall remote carries the house:

  • Button 1 cycles living scenes and announces each one by voice; a double-press settles into a cozy night look; a hold brings full daylight.
  • Button 2 controls sheers and blackouts.
  • Button 3 runs guest and outdoor scenes.
  • Button 4 runs Off to Bed; a hold raises an alarm.

A rotary knob switches between lights, TV volume and speaker volume so the same hand control covers more than lighting.

Scenes have plain names — Cozy Day, Guests Night, Movie Mode, Welcome Lights, Off to Bed — so nobody needs a manual.

How we’d set this up in your home

  1. Map the rooms people actually use — living, dining, entrance, outdoor — and which scenes matter every day.
  2. Place one primary remote where hands already reach (sofa wall, corridor, bedside for Off to Bed if you prefer a second unit).
  3. Keep labels human — no jargon on the wall; scene names you would say out loud.
  4. Pair with switches that still work as switches when the network is quiet.

The goal is not more gadgets. It is fewer decisions at the end of a long day.

Before you ask

Do guests need the phone app?

No. Wall switches and the four-button remote keep working when the internet is down. The phone is optional for remote access.

Can we change what each button does later?

Yes. Button behaviour is configured during commissioning and can be adjusted after you live with it for a week or two.
